Delegation of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram felicitated the newly appointed Chairman and members of the NCST

New Delhi: The delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram (ABVKA) met the newly appointed National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) Chairperson and members and felicitated them at NCST’s office at Loknayak Bhawan.ABVKA is Bharat’s largest non-governmental organization working for the overall development tribal communities across the country since its establishment in 1952. At present the organization runs 22,152 projects at 17, 394 places all over the country covering areas such as education, village development and economic empowerment, health, sports, protection of tribal faith and culture etc.NCST was established in 2004 by making the 89th amendment to the constitution to protect and preserve constitutional rights of tribal communities. The ongoing commission constitutes Antar Singh Aryav as the Chairperson and Dr. Asha Lakra, Nirupam Chakma, Jatothu Hussain as Members.The ABVKA’s delegation consisting 25 members from across the country welcomed and felicitated the NCST officials.Satyendra Singh Ji, National President of ABVKA felicitated by presenting angavastram and a memento to Antar Singh Arya Ji, Chairperson of NCST.After felicitation, Satyendra Singh Ji, updated the NCST officials about the ongoing activities and initiatives of the organization. Going further, he hoped that Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram would always be ready to lend its support to the NCST as in when required. Antar Singh Arya Ji, expressed his happiness to have met the delegation of the ABVKA. He further assured the delegation that he would seek help and support of the ABVKA in running various activities of the NCST in the protection and preservation of constitutional rights of the tribal communities of Bharat. The other members of the Commission also expressed their opinions on the occasion.
