Palakkad. Congress workers defaced Kerala’s first Vande Bharat Express by pasting posters of Congress MP VK Sreekandan on top of the train and on the windows when it arrived at Shornur railway station. The incident happened during the maiden trip of Vande Bharat Express in Kerala. The railway police team immediately reached the spot and removed the posters.
Earlier, when the Vande Bharat Express was not allowed to stop at Shornur, MP VK Sreekandan had intervened and sent a letter to the RailwayMinister. Later, a stop was allowed at Shornur for the train. However, Congress workers took advantage of the situation and created chaos.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat Express from the Thiruvananthapuram Central Railway station on Tuesday at 11.10 am. Hundreds of people gathered on the opposite side platform to witness the event and cheer for the PM. The train has 16 coaches, including two executive coaches with 104 seats.
